How it works

From raw file to real insight, in three steps

You already did the hard part when you took a DNA test. Here is everything else.

Download your raw data file

Log in to 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage or FamilyTreeDNA and export your raw DNA data. It downloads as a text or zip file. Our step-by-step guides cover each provider.

Use a free tool

Convert the file to 23andMe format, merge files from different tests, or explore the lifestyle traits your file covers. Each tool runs in your browser — your file never leaves your device.

Go deeper if you choose

Curious what your traits actually mean? Xcode Life turns the same file into detailed, plain-language reports on 500+ traits. That step is entirely optional and happens on xcode.life.

Nothing is uploaded

Every tool here works on your device. Your raw data file stays with you, is never stored, and never reaches our servers. Only an email — if you choose to give one — is ever sent.

FAQ

Questions

Where does my file go?
Nowhere. The Convert, Merge and Explore tools run entirely in your browser using your device’s own processing. Your raw data file is never uploaded to a server, and it is cleared as soon as you close or reload the page.
Which files are supported?
Raw data files from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA and Living DNA — usually a tab-separated .txt or a .csv, sometimes inside a .zip.
Do I need an account?
No. The free tools need no sign-up. You only share an email if you choose to have results sent to you.
