Free tools for the file you already have

Raw Data Kit is a small set of free, browser-based tools for the raw data file you downloaded when you took a consumer DNA test. Convert it, merge it, and explore what it covers — without a new test, an account, or an upload.

Who makes this

Raw Data Kit is built by the team behind Xcode Life, a service that turns raw DNA data files into detailed, plain-language reports. The tools here are free and useful on their own. If you ever want to go deeper into what your traits mean, Xcode Life is there — but you are never required to.

How your data is handled

This is the important part, so we will be plain about it:

• Your file is processed on your device. The Convert, Merge and Explore tools run in your browser. Your raw data file is never sent to a server.
• Nothing is stored. We keep no copy of your file. It is held in your browser’s memory only while you use the tool and is cleared the moment you close or reload the page.
• Your email is the only thing you might share. If you ask us to email your results, we store that email to send it and, occasionally, a relevant offer. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• We never sell your data. Not your file, not your email, not anonymised, not ever.

Your rights

You own your data. You can ask us to delete your email and any record of it at any time by contacting us. For the detailed reports service, deletion and data-ownership rights are described on theXcode Life privacy policy.
